Football-Related Concussion Study
Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is conducting a study looking at the effect of football-related concussions on the brain. We are using a new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sequence to look at the brain and also correlating with genetic testing to see if some children have a higher risk of worse outcomes after concussion.
Your child will receive two MRI scans in order to help us study the long-term effects of concussion.
In order to be eligible to participate, your child must be:
- male
- right-handed
- 14 to 18 years old
