Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital adolescent medicine specialists care for your teen during this time of transition with sensitivity and respect. At any age, we want to make sure every aspect of your child’s care is covered. That’s why we work closely with your primary care doctor, as well as psychiatrists, nutritionists and other specialists as needed.

Compassionate care teens trust

Every teen is different. Different bodies. Different outlooks on life. Different concerns at home and school. Our adolescent medicine specialists take the time to connect with your teen and get to know them personally. We help children and young adults feel at ease because we are sensitive, understanding, and we respect their privacy. Teenagers receive the best possible care in this environment of mutual trust and respect.

  • Questions about sexuality

Specialty care for female athletes

Young female athletes have many of the same concerns as male athletes - such as how to stay in prime shape and train injury-free. They also need to watch their eating and training habits to keep their hormones balanced. Regular periods are one key indicator of balanced hormones. We evaluate and treat issues related to nutrition and hormone balance for adolescent female athletes, and work closely with sports medicine experts when needed.
